Finland, Kotka

200 m² detached house · alongside oil heating

Role: Hybrid with oil heating retained as backup
Equipment: Bitcoin Boiler and outdoor unit
Key benefit: Multiplying the value of surplus solar power through mining

SunBit installed its first Bitcoin Boiler in a 200 m² detached house in Kotka. The Bitcoin Boiler serves as the primary heat source, with the existing oil boiler retained as backup. The outdoor unit enables summer cooling and more valuable use of surplus solar power: mining can multiply its value compared with selling the electricity to the grid.

Finland, Nokia

180 m² detached house · replacing district heating

Role: Fully replaced district heating
Equipment: Bitcoin Boiler and separate domestic hot-water tank

District heating in this 180 m² detached house was fully replaced by a Bitcoin Boiler. SunBit also installed a separate hot-water tank to ensure sufficient domestic hot water.

Finland, Vimpeli

3,000 m² industrial hall · three-source hybrid heating

Role: Mining waste heat, oil and an air-to-water heat pump
Solution: Custom immersion-cooled mining heat installation
Solar power: Using surplus power from a 30 kW solar array

In 2024, before the Bitcoin Boiler product was completed, SunBit built a custom immersion-cooled mining heat solution for a 3,000 m² industrial hall.

The property is heated by mining waste heat, oil heating and an air-to-water heat pump.

Surplus power from the site's 30 kW solar array can be used for mining instead of being sold to the grid.

Finland, Tampere

Old manor house · alongside a wood boiler

Role: Alongside the wood boiler as the primary heat source
Equipment: Bitcoin Boiler and 1,500 L tank at 50–60 °C

A Bitcoin Boiler was installed alongside the wood boiler at an old rural manor house and now serves as the primary heat source.

The system uses the existing 1,500-litre tank and maintains it at 50–60 °C, heating both the hydronic network and domestic hot water.

Netherlands, Lekkum

Large commercial property · alongside gas heating

Role: Alongside gas heating
Delivery: SunBit equipment with guidance for the local installation team

SunBit's first international project was delivered to Lekkum in the Netherlands in 2025. The Bitcoin Boiler was installed alongside gas heating at a large commercial property.

A local installation team completed the work with guidance from SunBit. SunBit can also supply the equipment without installation when the customer completes the work using SunBit's instructions.
